Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 20 - 350 m
Distribution:  Atlantic and Arctic Oceans: USA, Iceland and Canada. Mostly polar, but also in subtropical and boreal.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This is a solitary species (Ref. 19, 87872), with gonophores but no medusae. It is found in gulfs and estuaries particularly in circalittoral areas (Ref. 87872). Clay or mud dweller (Ref. 120436). Lives typically partially buried in sediments (Ref. 120437).
