15 cm wide, disk-shaped; the 16 rhopalar lappets are as wide as, but somewhat longer than, the 16 tentacular lappets, without centrifugal canals; the terminal ramifications of the perradial and interradial canals fuse with the adrarial canals.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
