Max. size:  15 cm DL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  sessile; marine; depth range 310 - 1500 m
Distribution:  Southwest and Antarctic Atlantic: Patagonian coasts, Falkland Island and South Georgia.
Diagnosis:  Stems up to 15 cm long, polysiphonic over a great extension. Branching dichotomous and in one plane. Branches strongly contracted at their base and originating at a position corresponding to a hydrotheca. Both stems and branches flattened. Hydrothecae arranged in subopposite or alternate pairs, forming two longitudinal series. In these series, hydrothecae may be closely approximated.
Biology:  Length based on stem length. Known at depths of 310 to 2727 m (Ref. 7414).
