Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean, Northeast Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. Temperate and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Colonies are encrusting. In shallow waters, usually found in ports and harbors (Ref. 116253). Subtidal. Fouls pontoons, buoys and mooring ropes (Ref. 102838).
